Aikido of Santa Cruz Class Schedule
---------------------------------------

Kyomizudera Temple, Kyoto

Aikido of Santa Cruz offers a new beginning class for adults and teenagers every two months. Taught by black-belt instructors, each class encompasses the Aikido philosophy of nonviolence and its physical expression. In the class, you will learn to fall safely, to relax under pressure, to move fluidly with a partner, and to apply the principles of harmony to self-defense.

Beginning Classes start every other month -- please look at the Events Page for "Class Schedule Updates" or call us for the next starting dates. Each beginning class is designed as a complete introduction to Aikido. Whether or not you choose to continue training, you will take with you from the class a basic understanding of one of the most profound and graceful martial arts in the world.

Beginning classes are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays and Saturdays. Classes begin in January, March, May, July, September, November.

New Pricing for Beginnner Class - We now offer a "special introductory package" of $185 which includes the beginning class, a new training uniform, and one additional month of unlimited training. The standard class fee is $120 for just the beginning class.

General classes are open to all students who have 6 weeks or more of Aikido experience. They cover basic skills, weapons, and more advanced training.

Children's classes are organized for Very Young People (ages 6-9), Young People (ages 9-12), and Teens (ages 13-18). The Aikido classes for young people involve non-competitive Aiki games, stretching, rolling, and Aikido partner practices. The emphasis throughout is on having fun and learning cooperatively. Through these classes, young people develop coordination, confidence, and respect for themselves and others.

No children's classes are offered during the month of August.
